'Play Drums Now' is the brand name for Adam Randall's drum lesson services, and it is also the title of the curriculum / book series (9 books total) he wrote for the primary curriculum he uses in his teaching.
Adam is a lifelong drummer and a full-time drum instructor for over 25 years (since 1999). He is the author of 18 drum instruction books to date, and (as of 2025) has plans for a few more! He has worked with hundreds of students, across a range of skill levels from total beginner (most common) to gigging professionals, anywhere from 4 to 80 years old. Most students have stayed on board with him for multiple years!
Adam is well-trained on the drumset with over 35 years experience (as well as with some hand drums / percussion), and is comfortable teaching most topics and musical styles including jazz, metal, and latin. His experience has also included plenty of students on the ADHD and autism spectrum, which is comfortable territory for Adam's patience and his overall positive energy and attitude.
As far as Adam's musical training, he studied jazz and Brazilian drumming styles throughout college and beyond, and has had plenty of varied experience playing with bands on stages and in recording studios. And although drumming / performance is one of his main passions, teaching drums (and creating instructional materials) also became passions of his from early on.
